SENEGAL’S BIG PINK LAKE

Sounds like a swim might be god for you – Dunaliella salina … Known for its anti-oxidant activity because of its ability to create large amount of carotenoids, it is used in cosmetics and dietary supplements. ” But I wouldn’t swim if it was bad for the people who are trying to make living from the lake.

It has up to 40% salt in some areas which can cause tissue damage when over exposed. The workers there are exposed up to 7 hours a day in the lake. To protect their skin the use shea butter. But a quick dip probably is good for you.
