CELEBRATE STRENGTH & WIN WITH AUSSIE BODIES

Here at The Hoopla we’re aware that as you age, being strong (both physically and mentally) is more important than being ‘skinny’.

As we get older, our muscle mass and bone density deteriorate, so it’s important to eat a protein-rich diet and do strength and conditioning exercise to ward off osteoporosis and lifestyle disease, support metabolism and keep our energy levels up.

Protein in the right dose is your body’s best friend.

It provides the building blocks for muscles and bones, replenishes the body’s cells and aids muscle recovery - vital factors in ensuring your body and mind are as strong as they can be.

I love the new choc caramel flavoured bars. I have a pile of them in my drawer at work and they are the a great snack that I can eat quickly in between my main meals. They keep me full and taste great. I have converted a few people at work that’s for sure!

I love the Lo Carb Brekkie range as I get to kick start my metabolism of a morning without feeling loaded down by a heavy breakfast. My fave bar is the chocolate chip bar – delish!

Mocha fudge. Thick as a brick, dense as a log, but rich in sustainance and energy without extra crap in a muesli bar. Good before a workout, but excellent for recovery from weight training, because, for those of us wonderful over 50 women……. You gotta lift! … And there is NO better way to head off afternoon cravings than looking good in a skirt! Keeps your mouth shut against calories that do not count.

Finally, something to replace that evening glass of wine when collapsing into the couch at 9pm! A cup of tea and Aussie Bodies Strawberries and Cream feels like a decadent well-deserved treat, but it comes without the carbs.

The chocolatey ones were nice but a tad too sweet, the fruity and banana ones were a big hit and the sizing was also very much appreciated. Just the right amount…

These low-carb bars were fantastic and kept me feeling full for longer. I replaced a meal with one of them and drank plenty of water with it. I will be buying more and recommending them to others. The book that came with it was a great read and I especially love the recipe ideas.
Thanks so much for the package and will be keeping up with this and regular exercise.

I’ve been low-carbing and calorie counting and exercising all year and its been a great success. But even that isn’t motivation enough every day. Finding a low-carb treat (treat meaning preferably tastes like chocolate) has been really tough. So, I’m very taken with the Lo Carb Mini-Protein Bars – Choc Fudge probably my favourite to date but we will see.

Thanks for the package and Ill update on favourite flavour when I finish them all.

This was such a great surprise to get in the mail – thank you! So far my favourite is the Cookies and Cream one, with Choc Fudge a very close second. They are the perfect size too. I’m already a regular exerciser (CrossFit is my exercise of choice) and I eat well but these bars will be great to have on hand for a sweet treat that I won’t have to feel guilty about. Thanks again!

I enjoy the Rasberry Lo Carb Mini Protein Bar for a treat. I enjoy one with my cuppa in the evening….enjoy the non guilt that goes with it as well

There was a choc cherry one that reminded me a little of a cherry ripe bar that was seriously yum!!
I found these bars great for snacking late afternoon as they kept me from going for whatever quick sugary fix I could get my hands on and I didn’t feel the urge to pick before dinner.

Thank you for the pack – my favourites – the choc cherry and choc fudge. On Saturday I went on a 11 hour, 20km hike out to, over and down Mt Solitary and enjoyed the protein bars were a very welcome addition to my pack.

Thank you for the package :-)

I actually started experimenting with protein bars and shakes a couple of months ago to try and prevent carbohydrate cravings later in the day. There are some great ones out there (and some awful ones too!)

I’m not a fan of protein shakes as they don’t seem to fill me up as much. With the bars, a lot of them are huge and seem to be marketed more towards men. I’d purchased Aussie Bodies mini bars before and they are definitely one of the best brands. The low-carb mini bars are a good size and the flavours are great (Choc-fudge is my favourite).

Once I’ve eaten a mini-bar in the afternoon, it gets me through until dinner and I’m not constantly snacking all afternoon. I’ve also noticed that I generally have more energy, as I don’t get the mid-afternoon slump anymore.

They are more expensive than chocolate bars, but I figure I spend less in the long run, because I’m eating less (Coles has the 4-packs on special every now and then too).

I’ve also been keeping one in my handbag too, so that I’m not tempted to buy a snack when I’m out (which is when I’m most likely to be caught out and eat junk!)

Thank you for sending the selection from Aussie Bodies. I never send away for freebies. But The Hoopla offer Celebrating Strength caught my attention. And this is how I have reflected on the ‘Challenge:

I have been working hard this year to lose 20 kilos by December 2012. I have done all the right things; radically changed my diet to – high protein, low fat, low carb, no gluten, no dairy. I am exercising every day through walking, house work and gardening. This regime and losing those initial kilos has enabled me to ‘kick’ medication for blood pressure, cholesterol and HRT. And I got myself teamed up with a great naturopath, who is teaching me about my body’s chemistry and healthy weight loss!

As you would imagine, the first 10 ks came off relatively well. It’s the next 10 ks that are proving harder to shift. And I thought ‘I need a boost of something’.

Having converted to organics and trying to eat macro foods, I had always thought that ‘it was too good to be true’ to find a ‘fill you up’ product. You know the old adage…’if it sounds to good to be true it probably is’. So when I entered the ‘Challenge’ it was with some reservations. But I like The Hoopla…it is well informed, genuine and relevant….so I went for it!

Well, blow me down – LOW and behold!!!!!!!! The Aussie Bodies Low Gi and Low Carb 91) taste great, (2) stop my afternoon ‘cravings’ dead in their tracks, and (3) I am getting to sleep faster, because I’m not going to bed starving anymore.

Love the Women’s Health Training Guide, too. And its the old thing. Suddenly I am seeing Aussie Bodies Bars and Fitness First Signs everywhere.

I’ll never be ‘skinny’ again, but I am committed to being as healthy as I can be and improving my lifestyle into my 60′s and 70′s. Now…. just ‘gotta’ get rid of this 10 kilos of ‘unwanted fat’. Motivation is the key. And my weekly supply of Aussie Bodies Bars! I have even got my husband eating them.

    To all at The Hoopla,
Congratulations on a Great Promo! and Partnership! Keep up the great Celebration of Physcial and Mental Strength.

Being on the go, means I don’t always have the time to prepare a healthy snack. But with the Aussie Bodies cookies and cream protein bar, I get the energy boost I need to get through the day, as well as getting my sweet tooth fix – without it going to my hips…

I work three days a week and am a full time mum four days a week. The days I’m at home I graze all day! When the kids have a snack I have a snack. While I’m preparing dinner I snack. At night, while I’m online, I snack.
This week I’ve consciously sat down with a coffee and a ProteinFX bar mid morning and it’s been enough to tide me over until lunch. It’s small but dense and filling. It has a sweet taste but is not sickly like a chocolate bar. I especially liked the choc fudge flavour.
I would certainly buy them, so thanks for the opportunity to sample.

thanks for the treats! The Choc Berry one was soooo good, it’s almost worth joining a gym and going on a diet to have the excuse to eat them! PS as only 3 of the samples were Gluten Free, I’ve given the others to my hubby for him to try as well :).

Thanks for the chance to sample the ProteinFX range. The size is great, handy to always keep one in handbag or gym bag and being pretty solid they don’t break up or squish.

For my taste, the Lo Carb mini protein bars are too sweet. But I really liked the LO-GI “sustained energy snack” (especially Banana Boom flavour). It seemed more wholesome … therefore I’m surprised to see on the packaging that compared with the chocolately mini-bars, it has more kJ, more fat and more carbs, and less protein and dietary fibre – though also much less sodium.

So it’s a conundrum to like the more savoury one that seems healthier, but discover the nutiritonal value of the other seems better.

I’m a five-day-a-week gym person, loving everything from pilates to combat, so I really liked the Women’s Health magazine included with the prize. The recipes are good, but especially useful are the descriptions for strength and flexibility workouts to help me improve technique (thereby getting stronger, building muscle that burns calories faster than fat, and preventing injury).

    Thanks!

These taste fantastic and they are good for you! What more could you want. Wait there’s more – yep, they even help you lose weight.
I will be eating this bar whenever I get a chocolate or biscuit craving…it has a pleasant taste and a chewy texture which sort of slows down the eating process, getting you fuller sooner and also allowing you to savour the flavour.
Coupled with a good exercise regime this bar could do some serious damage to the waistline!!!

Tasty but I actually found that I felt a bit hungrier after I ate them – like they gave me a taste and my body wanted more. That’s just me though.

Thank you for allowing me to try the products, particularly the Banana Boom and Superfruit Slam. Not only much more exciting names, but also packed full of goodness and flavour. I work from home while often juggling an 18 month old on my lap (as I am right now), so my lunch and snacks can be delayed, leaving me feeling flat by the end of the day. Anything that gives another burst of energy while also keeping the waist line visible (if only just!) is greatly appreciated.

Finally a treat that tasted good and stopped me going back for more 20 minutes later. Since starting to walk in the mornings before everyone else is awake, I have been craving a snack around 10.30. I have tried an apple, banana and cheese and crackers but the raspberry and the cookies and cream LO CARB bars just hit the spot. Naughty enough to be tempting and filling enough to satisfy and give me plenty of energy to get on with my eveyday jobs. They didn’t give me the sugar shakes and I felt in control of my calorie intake. Thank you for sending them out and thank you for the fantastic magazine that I have started to use to give me ideas of how to lose my c-section belly after 4 beautiful kids.

    LOST: 3PM CRAVINGS

    Answers to ‘Stomach growling.’

I’ve tried brushing my teeth to quell my cravings, but my taste buds are not that gullible.

I’ve even tried having a nap around 3pm but sleeping in the office is not particularly condoned.

And then I discovered (or rather was delivered in the post) how to make my 3pm cravings disappear for good: Aussie Bodies Lo Carb bars.

I don’t know how these tasty treats do it, but the mid-afternoon cravings have disappeared almost as fast as I eat these chocolate-covered delights.

NO REWARD offered if you find my 3pm cravings – actually if you do find them you can keep them.

Just wanted to add that the bars were great as they helped me get over the 3pm cravings. My fave had to be choc raspberry though some of the other choc onces were a tad sweet.

The booklet had good tips and I did some boxing classes with the gym pass. Fun but I need to improve my co-ordination.

Thanks for the trial it was great.

Thanks for the parcel. I am trying hard to follow the advice in the book and have lost 3 kg since I started. My favourite bar is the Lo Carb Cookies and Cream as it is very indulgent and taste beautiful. I’ve noticed all the bars really stave off hunger and stop me bingeing in the afternoons when the kids all come home from school.

What a bunch of legends you are saving me from my usual 3pm ‘stuff anything I can get my hands on in my face’.

The bars were genius as an afternoon ‘treat’ and I use the word ‘treat’ loosely. I couldn’t exactly resist the cookie jar, but if it wasn’t in front of me, I didn’t go searching.

The snackable little bars are perfect for curbing the afternoon munchies (Dark choc is defo the best)

I’ll keep them in my drawer from now on – turning to them instead of cake.*

*I will probably still have the cake.

Since going back to work part time and running around after three kids, I have been struggling to get my act together when it comes to healthy eating and exercise. Your protein pack has given me a fresh start. I have introduced more protein into my diet and refreshed my exercise routine with many of the exercises in the Women’s Health Training Guide.
Now, when my colleague at work pulls out a Mars bar, I pull out a Lo Carb Aussie Bodies bar and I don’t feel like I am missing out. I love the chocolate coated bars – all of them! The healthier looking/ tasting bars (banana etc.) didn’t do it for me, I loved the chocolate coated bars because I felt like I was having a real, naughty treat.
The bars also came in handy on a Saturday morning after I had spent all my time organising everyone else in the house to leave for sport (snacks, water bottles etc). What about me? I am always the last one to get ready and often dash out of the house with an unhealthy snack because I just didn’t have the time. An Aussie Bodies bar was thrown into my bag and I was off! I was very happy with myself and content that I had a nutritious snack tucked away for later.
    Thanks for the FRESH start.

    Thank you for my pack.
The choc berry bar was my favourite – I have been in and out of hospitals recently with a family emergency, and don’t want to be caught with the selections available at their canteen. The bars provide a quick, easy, healthy option and have kept up my strength during these visits.
As I get more time I will read the booklet more to incorporate this into my lifestyle.

Thanks The Hoopla and Aussie Bodies for this awesome pack! It dawned on me a couple of weeks ago that New Years is fast approaching and I really don’t want to be making the same resolution on Jan 1st 2013 that I did Jan 1st 2012 – to loose those last 5 kg’s! With the help of this pack I’ve made this goal a priority and I’m well on my way to achieving this by years end! I loved the Superfruit Slam, perfect for before or after a gym session to keep me from raiding the fridge and I have found them in my local supermarket so stocked up on more!
Thank you again for this and I look forward to making a new goal come Jan 1st 2013!
