Read these over at Amazon, still laughing at “the penis mightier than the sword…” Good lord, do we really need dainty pink and purple pens? Haven’t these people heard of Twitter and tablets, or even “unisex”. The cynic in me can’t help wondering if the reviews were generated by the makers to create precisely the PR buzz they’ve achieved.

Oh my freaking giddy aunt. Am standing in our Pop Up shop and just burst out laughing a little too raucously but in a very feminine Bic like way of course. I bet who ever thought of this amazing advancement for women everywhere dots his “i’s” with a love heart.

I’m not sure why everyone is being so nasty. I think these pens look alright. I only wish they had matching ink inside, instead of just black. I hate writing in black. I guess I’m just a really girly girl and prefer to write in pink and purple or my favourite, turquoise blue. Sometimes I think people get way to over the top about being PC.

At least it would stop my all-male family from pinching my pens all the freakin time. Each to their own. I would recommend not buying them if you do not like the colour…

Bic is simply trying to corner a market, which, after two years working in a stationery store, I know already exists. Truth is women like to buy pretty things in stationery shops, and the more feminine the product is the easier it is for the ladies to hold onto them, especially if they are working with men who live their entire lives in stubbies, bluies and gravel dust. That said, it seems fairly ridiculous to brand them ‘for hers’ when the pens could have been produced and still get the market they were after without making them gender specific.
Personally I prefer .7 Uni ball jet stream black pens, or Artline .5 felt-tips, both of which could be argued look quite masculine, but that doesn’t put me off buying them. -

Lord love a duck. I just want a pen that writes easily and without a stop. Couldn’t care what colour, shape or provenance.
